Steve McLain began performing at age five with Irish folk band The Old Triangle and went on to earn top honors for vocal performance throughout school. After releasing his solo album Townie in 2000, he formed Jefferson County Green Band, recording four albums and sharing stages with major national acts. Steve now brings lead vocals, guitar, and decades of experience to Commotion’s sound.

He is an experienced musician who has recorded and/or toured with many major artists, including Paul McCartney, Elton John & Kiki Dee, Carly Simon, Cat Stevens, Jim Croce, Rod Stewart, Judy Collins, and James Taylor. He is also a film and TV composer.

George Foster is a multi-instrumentalist who discovered his true musical voice on the bass at sixteen after starting on piano, drums, and guitar. He has performed and recorded across many styles and shared musical circles, including with future Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer Artimus Pyle. An award-winning designer of almost two thousand book covers, he also creates Commotion’s logos and graphics while providing bass and backing vocals for the band.

Mark-David Ellis is a Kansas City–born multi-instrumentalist (drums, bass, trumpet, keyboards, and vocals) who has toured throughout the U.S. and Europe. He has recorded with artists and groups signed to Atlanta Artist Records and EMI Electrola Records, and in 2023 joined Commotion on drums, bringing decades of versatility and stage experience to every performance.
