“Commotion FAR exceeded my expectations. I anticipated a great performance for sure, but it truly went beyond that—WOW! The musicianship was extraordinary, unsurpassed, and Steve's voice is remarkable; he captures John Fogerty so completely. The multimedia elements added a fun, visual and nostalgic layer to the concert, and the stories behind the songs brought a new depth to CCR's music. It was genuinely enlightening. The audience LOVED every moment. Many said to me on their way out that this was the best show we have ever presented and that says A LOT because we have presented many music legends.I can't say enough good things about how good this band is!
When everyone sang along to "Have You Ever Seen the Rain," I found myself tearing up. It was such a beautiful reminder of how music can transport us back in time and differences seem to fall away and connection through the music takes center stage. The response was overwhelming, and it was a magnificent way to close our season.
It was also a pleasure working with all of the guys—the entire day ran smoothly. I especially appreciated how they took the time to speak with a young aspiring student who is exploring her place in the industry. That meant a great deal.”

“The Lauridsen Performing Arts Theatre at the Pearson Lakes Art Center was the scene of much “Commotion” July 6-7. America’s #1 tribute band to Creedence Clearwater Revival (Commotion) played two nights of great music to a full house.
We found our seats; the lights went down and a film lit up the large screen on the back of the stage. It was what we thought was an old black and white clip of Walter Cronkite on his newscast. Then he began introducing the band Commotion and we all gasped, chuckled and then applauded how authentic that AI created clip looked.
We were off to an evening of great songs performed by four outstanding musicians.
Steve McLain took John Fogerty’s role in the band. He has an amazing voice and plays the guitar and harmonica with skill. Jimmy Ryan is a Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement winner who has recorded with many of the greats in music such as Paul McCartney, Elton John, Carly Simon, Mick Jagger…and the list goes on. His guitar skills are at the top of any chart and he sings well too. George Foster is a king on the bass guitar and his voice adds much to the songs. Drummer Mark Ellis not only keeps the songs on beat extremely well but sings back up too.
The blending of their voices as the show began with “Down On The Corner” was very evident.
They performed CCR hit after hit. Our heads bobbed, toes tapped and hands clapped to the beat all night long. The scenes on the big screen were timed perfectly to the lyrics they were singing. Some of them were hilarious like the ponies and donkeys in “Blue Boy,” as were the scenes during “Looking Out My Back Door.” The bus scenes for “Lodi” were perfection. We sang along enthusiastically to “Have You Ever Seen the Rain.” “Proud Mary” exercised our vocal cords as well. We also got out our phones and turned on the flashlight mode to “As Long as I Can See Light.” We all stood and swayed for the final of a three-song encore, “Fortunate Son.”
It was a wonderful performance of hit after hit of some of our favorite music of all time, performed magnificently. Thank you, Commotion, for coming to Boji to entertain us!”
